Start with the right calculation base
The Stake.com rakeback help article, dated August 24, 2026, distinguishes poker rake from casino house edge. For poker, use the eligible rake amount. For casino games, first multiply eligible wagers by the game's house edge, then apply the rakeback rate.
| Product | Calculation |
|---|---|
| Poker | Eligible rake x 0.035 |
| Casino | Eligible wagers x house edge x 0.035 |
Use decimals when multiplying: 2% becomes 0.02 and 3.5% becomes 0.035. Deposits and session losses measure different things.
Worked poker example
Assume a poker statement shows $100 of eligible rake. Multiplying $100 by 0.035 gives $3.50. The remaining fee cost after this reward is $96.50, before considering any other qualifying rewards or charges.
That figure describes a fee rebate. A player's total session result also includes the outcome of the poker hands. A winning session and a losing session can each contain the same amount of rake.
Worked casino example
Assume $1,000 in eligible wagers on a game with a 2% house edge. The theoretical house edge amount is $1,000 x 0.02 = $20. Applying 3.5% to $20 produces $0.70 in rakeback.
The reward in this illustration is 0.07% of the wager total. Multiplying $1,000 directly by 3.5% would give $35, which is 50 times the calculated amount. The mistake comes from replacing the theoretical house edge amount with total wagers.
The $20 figure is a mathematical expectation over repeated play. It does not predict the result of one session. In this simplified example, subtracting the $0.70 reward leaves $19.30 of theoretical cost. The rebate reduces that cost without determining the session outcome.
The poker rakeback calculator accepts eligible rake. Use the casino formula above for casino wagers, and keep the product type visible in your records.
Claiming and product scope
Stake.com directs eligible players to the VIP page's Rakeback tab to claim accumulated rewards. Its help page describes account activation and Bronze VIP eligibility. Check the status in the applicable account before assuming that a calculation will become a payment.
This guide covers Stake.com. Stake.us publishes separate rakeback documentation using its own product and token terminology.
Questions about Stake rakeback
Is rakeback a percentage of my losses?
The published formulas use poker rake or a theoretical house edge amount. Actual session losses are not the calculation base.
Can I compare 3.5% directly with another poker room's rate?
First match the product and eligible fee base. Then compare rewards after any costs and conditions. The poker rakeback guide explains that comparison.
