PokerStars Rewards and rakeback explained

PokerStars has a regular Rewards program based on Chests and separate Select tiers with cash rakeback. The program available to your account determines how rewards are earned and valued.

Why the words 'no rakeback' need context

The general rakeback help page says PokerStars does not offer rakeback as a player reward method. Its dedicated Select help page explicitly describes daily cash rakeback. Both pages were accessible when checked.

Use the dedicated terms for the program being evaluated. The general wording does not describe every tier, and a Select percentage does not describe an ordinary Rewards account.

Chests and Select are separate systems

The published Rewards table has six regular Chest levels, with stated returns from 15% at Blue to 40% at Black. Its Blue Chest requires 2,000 points and has a $3 value. The published points rate is 100 points per $1 in qualifying poker rake or tournament fees.

The dedicated Select documentation lists a $50,000 rake threshold over a rolling 12-month period for Select, which pays 50% cash rakeback. Select+ requires $100,000 and pays 60% for Zoom and Spin & Go, or 50% for other poker games. Select members leave the ordinary points and Chest system.

Worked example: progress versus a received reward

At the published Blue Chest points rate, $20 of qualifying fees produces 2,000 points. Completing that bar unlocks a Chest with a stated $3 value. The ratio is $3 / $20 x 100 = 15%.

Now consider a statement containing $15 of qualifying fees and 1,500 points toward that same Chest. The bar is three-quarters complete. Multiplying $15 by 15% gives $2.25, but that calculation does not make $2.25 an already received cash payment.

Keep earned points, unlocked rewards and redeemed value in separate columns. For a completed period, divide the value actually received by the matching total rake paid. If a reward has use restrictions, record those beside its value so the comparison remains meaningful.

Use the rakeback calculator to check percentage arithmetic, then reconcile the result with the account statement and completed rewards.

Check expiry before valuing a Chest

The official Chest guide says unlocked standard Rewards Chests remain available for 30 calendar days. Promotional Chests can have other deadlines. This expiry is separate from the 28-day period used for Chest progression.

Questions about PokerStars Rewards

Can I add Select rakeback to Chest rewards?

Those are separate membership systems. An estimate should use the program active during the period being measured, rather than adding incompatible headline rates.

Does a published reward value always mean withdrawable cash?

The regular Rewards terms allow rewards with playthrough requirements. Check the actual reward type and conditions before treating its displayed value as cash received.

Read the rakeback calculation guide for the difference between an advertised percentage and an effective return.
